Frequently Asked Questions

What data can be anonymized?

Any selected text column can be masked. Values keep the first and last character when possible, with the middle replaced by asterisks.

Is anonymization reversible?

The output does not contain the complete original value, but short masks can still reveal information. Treat this as masking and review re-identification risk.

Why anonymize data?

For lower-risk test data and demonstrations after you review whether the masking is sufficient for your use case. It does not by itself establish legal compliance.
